Terms of Service & End User License Agreement
Last updated: July 2, 2026
Please read these Terms together with our Privacy Policy (https://wondereel.app/privacy), which explains how we handle data. By allowing your child to use the App, the parent or guardian agrees to these Terms on the child’s behalf (see Section 1). The App is not intended to form an agreement directly with a child. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Who may use the App, and the parent’s role
Wondereel is a child-directed service intended for children. Because it is designed for children, we require that a parent or legal guardian (an adult, 18 or older) reviews and accepts these Terms and supervises the child’s use of the App.
- Any purchase (subscription) and any action that leaves the child’s experience (such as managing a subscription or opening an external link) sits behind a parental gate and is intended to be performed by a parent or guardian.
- By allowing a child to use the App, the parent or guardian agrees to these Terms on the child’s behalf and takes responsibility for the child’s use of the App.
2. Your license to use the App
We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on a device you own or control, for your household’s personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms and the rules of the app store you downloaded it from. For Apps obtained through the Apple App Store, this license is limited to use on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store rules.
You agree not to:
- copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, or sublicense the App or its content;
- reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code, except where the law expressly permits it;
- download, scrape, rip, or redistribute the videos or other content, or circumvent any technical protection (such as signed video playback);
- use the App in any unlawful way, or in any way that interferes with, disrupts, or overburdens the App or its providers;
- use the App to build a competing product or dataset.
The App and all of its content are licensed, not sold, to you.
3. Subscriptions, pricing, and auto-renewal
Wondereel offers a limited amount of content for free. After watching a set number of free videos, continued access requires an auto-renewable subscription, purchased by a parent or guardian.
Wondereel Premium is available as:
- Monthly — $4.99 (USD) per month, billed every month; or
- Annual — $39.99 (USD) per year, billed every 12 months.
By subscribing, you understand and agree that:
- Payment is charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically at the same price for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your device’s account settings: Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions (Apple) or the Google Play > Subscriptions menu (Google). You can also reach these controls from the Parents area in the App. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
- There is no free trial. The free videos are the trial.
- Prices are in U.S. dollars and may vary. If we increase the price of an active subscription, the app store will notify you in advance, and — where the app store’s rules require it — will ask you to agree to the new price before your subscription renews. If you do not agree, your subscription will not renew at the higher price.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies, not by us. We do not process payments and never receive your payment card details.
4. Free access and the paywall
The App lets a child watch a limited number of videos for free before asking a parent to subscribe. The specific number of free videos, and how the free tier works, may change over time as we improve the App. Nothing in the free tier is guaranteed to remain free indefinitely.
5. The content
Wondereel’s videos are first-party educational content that we produce. There is no user-generated content — children cannot post, upload, comment, or message. Content is provided for general educational and entertainment purposes and is offered “as is.” While we work to keep it accurate and age-appropriate, we do not warrant that every video is error-free, and content may be added, changed, or removed at any time.
If you believe a video is inappropriate or contains an error, you can use the in-app “report this video” button, or email us at hello@wondereel.app.
6. Intellectual property
The App, its design, text, graphics, videos, audio, characters, and the Wondereel name and logo are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks or content except to use the App as permitted here.
7. Privacy and children
Your privacy — and your child’s — matters to us. How we handle data is described in our Privacy Policy (https://wondereel.app/privacy). In short: Wondereel requires no account, does not ask children for personal details, and keeps a child’s activity on the device. The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
8. Disclaimers
The App and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that content will always be available. Wondereel is an educational supplement and is not a substitute for schooling, professional advice, or supervision.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the App. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
10. Termination
You may stop using the App and delete it at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the App. Sections that by their nature should survive (for example, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) survive termination. Ending your access does not by itself cancel a paid subscription — cancel that through your app store account (see Section 3).
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where the change materially affects a paid subscription or children’s data practices, provide reasonable notice and — for such material changes — ask a parent or guardian to re-accept the revised Terms behind the parental gate before they take effect. For non-material changes, your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
12. App store terms (Apple & Google)
You downloaded the App from the Apple App Store or Google Play, and additional terms apply:
- These Terms are between you and us, not with Apple or Google. Apple and Google are not responsible for the App or its content.
- Apple, Inc. is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, has the right to enforce them against you.
- Maintenance and support for the App are our responsibility, not Apple’s or Google’s. They have no obligation to provide any support for the App.
- Warranty: to the extent any warranty is not effectively disclaimed, Apple may refund the purchase price of the App (if any); beyond that, Apple has no warranty obligation, and any other claims relating to the App are our responsibility.
- Product claims — including product liability, legal/regulatory compliance, and consumer-protection claims — are our responsibility, not Apple’s or Google’s, to the extent required by law.
- Intellectual-property claims: if a third party claims the App infringes their intellectual property, we (not Apple or Google) are responsible for investigating and resolving that claim as required by law.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as “terrorist-supporting,” and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- For Apple downloads, this section incorporates the applicable terms of Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement where required; where these Terms conflict with Apple’s minimum terms, Apple’s minimum terms control for that point only.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, except where a mandatory consumer-protection law of your home state provides you greater protection. This choice of law does not deprive you of protections you cannot waive under applicable law.
14. General
- Severability — if any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full effect.
- Entire agreement — these Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App and replace any earlier understanding.
- Assignment — you may not assign or transfer these Terms; we may assign them to a successor or acquirer of the App or its assets.
- No waiver — our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
